Frequently Asked Questions

Calmness, authenticity, comfort, natural spaces, troglodytic site, flowers, welcome, friendliness, good location for hiking or biking, well situated for exploring the Anjou and the Loire Valley: here are some words that often come up in the reviews left after a stay.

La Cotiniere is part of the commune of Gennes Val de Loire and is located in the countryside in Grézillé in the hamlet of Aligny halfway between Grézillé and Louerre on the D 161. We are ideally situated between Saumur and Angers to discover the whole area.

Gennes Val de Loire and Brissac Quincé are located 10/15 minutes away by car and easily accessible by bike on small roads (10 km). Count on 30 mn to go to Saumur (23 km) or to Angers (31 km). Doué la Fontaine and its biopark are 15 minutes away by car.

Your stays can be either:
- in guest rooms: maximum capacity of 11 people divided into 4 double or triple rooms.
- in gites (furnished tourist accommodation): two gites are available: 1 for 4 people (4*) and 1 for 2 people (3*). For regulatory reasons, the maximum capacity is 15 people. Possible privatization of the whole for a stay with friends, family, seminar the maximum capacity is 15 people in 7 bedrooms/6 bathrooms. In this case you will have access to the kitchens, dining rooms, living room, troglodyte room etc…

The three buildings are independent but located in the same compound which is very appreciated in case of privatization.
Each gite has its own private outdoor space.
The garden areas are large, which is good for finding a quiet place to rest, read etc.
There is a large terrace of 60 m2 and a cave room of 50 m2 (ideal when it is hot!) accessible.

A stay in a bed and breakfast is for one or more nights and breakfast is included in the price.
A stay in a gîte is a self-catering stay in your own building and with your own kitchen to prepare your meals. It usually lasts a week or more but depending on the season, stays can be for 3 nights.

Two kilometres away you will find a troglodyte restaurant called « Les Fouées de Grézillé ». Reservations are required, tel 02 41 45 53 57. There is a wide choice of restaurants in the communes of Gennes Val de Loire, Brissac, Doué la Fontaine and of course Saumur or Angers.

The table d'hôte is only available on reservation. If we can't, a kitchen is available and we have local and organic jars of starters and meals available.

In general, check-in times are between 5pm and 7pm, but we can adapt if this is not convenient for you: please ask.

A kitchen with a fridge is available (please ask, as it may be difficult if we have a table d'hôte).
Terrace, garden, cave room are also available for picnics.

One of the 4 guest rooms is on the ground floor (the Coquelicot room) and there are no steps to access it or to move between the sleeping area and the bathroom.
In the gîte l'Orée des Fleurs, one of the two rooms is on the ground floor.

The access to the 2 gîtes is independent.
The access to the Boisée Blanc room is independent.
The access to the other rooms is through the main entrance of the big house but then each access is independent without passing through the living rooms.

There are 6 parking spaces for cars: 3 under the barn (there is an electric socket for bikes) and 3 outside.
For your bicycles, a large troglodyte and a two-bike room are available.
Bikers like to park their bikes in the barn and hang their jackets or other items in the barn if it rains when they arrive.

Whether your stay is in a bed and breakfast or in a gîte, the beds are made up with sheets and duvets and bath towels are provided.

The Nordic bath is available at the l'Orée des Fleurs gite but if the gite is not rented you can make a reservation.
If the whole of La Cotinière is privatised, the bath can be used on reservation and as an option.

Yes it is possible with a password and the fibre (high broadband) is installed.
